Working families in Bryan, College Station, and across HD-14 are getting hit from every direction: groceries, insurance, prescriptions, doctor visits, housing, and property taxes.
People were promised relief. Donald Trump said he would “make America affordable again,” bring prices down fast, cut energy costs, lower electric bills, and make life easier for working families.
That is not how this is working out.
Families are still paying too much for the basics. And here in Texas, homeowners are being taxed on paper value spikes while insurance, health care, and everyday costs keep climbing.
I’m running because working people need someone who will fight to lower the bills they actually pay.
The Problem: Costs Keep Rising, Families Keep Falling Behind
The people of HD-14 do not need lectures about the economy. We live it.
We see it:
at the grocery store
at the pharmacy counter
in the property tax notice
in the insurance premium
in the electric bill
at the gas pump
at the doctor’s office
Trump promised affordability. But across the country, families have continued to face rising costs in groceries, electricity, housing, and other essentials instead of the relief they were promised.
That matters here at home, because when the cost of living goes up, it is working families, seniors, and first-time homeowners who get squeezed first.

The bottom line is simple: the affordability promise did not match the reality.
What I’ll Fight For Instead
Lower housing costs
We need practical solutions that help families stay in Bryan, College Station, and communities across HD-14.
That means:
expanding affordable housing options
supporting starter homes and workforce housing
reducing abusive rental fees and barriers
helping first-time homebuyers get a fair shot
Reform property tax appraisals
Appraisals should reflect reality, not speculative spikes that push families out of their homes.
I will fight for:
appraisal reforms that better protect homeowners
stronger limits against sudden valuation spikes
tax fairness for people who actually live in their homes
Protect owner-occupied homes
A family’s home is not a hedge fund asset.
Owner-occupied homes should be treated differently from corporate-owned investment properties. The people living in and caring for their homes should not be taxed the same way as absentee investors building portfolios.
Raise paychecks
If the cost of living goes up, wages should not stay stuck.
I support:
raising the minimum wage
policies that help working Texans keep more of what they earn
Make health care more affordable
No one should have to choose between filling a prescription and paying the electric bill.
I will fight to:
lower prescription drug costs
protect access to care
expand preventive care
strengthen maternal health services
improve access to mental health care
Strengthen local care
Families should be able to get good care close to home.
That means supporting:
local hospitals
rural and community clinics
frontline providers
maternal and preventive care networks
Address climate-driven costs
Extreme heat, drought, flooding, and supply chain disruptions are raising costs for families, farmers, and small businesses across our region.
We need serious planning that lowers long-term costs by:
strengthening infrastructure
protecting water resources
improving resilience for farms and neighborhoods
reducing utility and disaster-related burdens on families
Who I’m Fighting For
I’m fighting for:
homeowners being taxed out of the houses they live in
renters trying to stay near work and family
seniors on fixed incomes
parents juggling child care, insurance, and grocery bills
workers whose paychecks are not keeping up
families putting off care because it costs too much
This campaign is about the people who do everything right and still feel like they are falling behind.
The Choice in This Race
We can keep listening to politicians make big promises about affordability while families keep paying more.
Or we can fight for real solutions here in Texas:

fairer property taxes
stronger wages
lower health care costs
protection for owner-occupied homes
support for local care and local communities
I’m running to lower everyday costs and stand up for the people who actually live here, work here, and care for their homes.
Working families have heard enough promises.
It is time to lower costs, raise wages, protect health care, and make the tax system fairer for the people who call HD-14 home.
That is the fight. And that is why I’m running.
